TESTIMONIALS

"In 2001 a very special little kitten came to stay at our house named Emma. She weighed in at a whopping 2 ½ pounds. When she was about 9 months old she began vomiting and wouldn’t eat. The doctors at Piney Creek Square Veterinary Clinic took x-rays, but nothing showed up on them. She was losing weight, and she was thin by nature anyway, so everyone was worried about her. Dr. Behrns came to the rescue and performed emergency surgery on our little girl. She found an almond trying to pass into Emma’s stomach. Of course, it would not have shown up on an x-ray. Thank you, Dr. Behrns, for saving Emma’s life."

Irene S.

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
I’ve been working in veterinary medicine since 2019 and have been part of the PCSIVM team since 2021.
From a young age, I knew I wanted to help animals, and that passion has only grown stronger with time. As a Registered Veterinary Technician, I’m most passionate about making a real difference in the lives of my patients—whether it’s through medical care, comfort, or simply showing them love when they need it most.
My favorite part of the job is building lasting relationships with our Piney Creek family—both the pets and their people. When I’m not at the clinic, I love spending time with my family, reading, crafting, or heading out to Colorado National Speedway for a day at the races.
At home, I’m lucky to be loved by a full house of pets: a Chihuahua who rules the roost, a German Shepherd/Chihuahua mix who’s the ultimate mama’s boy and best buddy to the baby, an American Bulldog with a “licker” license, and a sweet domestic shorthair cat who’s always ready with kisses.
If I had a superpower, I’d love to talk to animals—just like Antonio from Encanto. And if I could be any animal, I’d choose a wolf: majestic, loyal, and protective of their pack. I’m known at the clinic for being the go-to for blood draws, and I have a special place in my heart for senior dogs.
My favorite treat is an iced cherry chai from Starbucks, and I live by the simple motto: “Treat others the way you’d want to be treated.” I give 110% to every patient, and I care for each one like they’re my own.
